Johannes Huwe, who had been excited about photography since the middle of the eighties, is concentrating on subjects such as "Timeless Highway" and "Street Photography" in his newest works, which find unique scenery in North America.
On this theme his well acclaimed illustrated book, "New York Street
Photography with a Toy Camera", was published in the US in 2006. With the photographic style - tailor-made by Johannes Huwe for the Holga toy camera - the photographic autodidact even attracted the attention of the Japanese manufacturer of this medium-format cult camera, leading to an assignment for Holga promotion material.
His images for a lens test in Malaysia were also published worldwide.

As a contrast to his generally colorful picture world, Johannes Huwe puts a focus on fine art black-and-white photography in his works. In particular the medium format creates here very clear design possibilities characterized by the square format.

Whereas the proprietor of a renowned agency for new media in the CeBIT trade fair city of Hanover, Germany, concentrates on digital media in his routine work, in his photography he prefers the analogue film with its classic Hasselblad or Linhof 617 panorama camera.
